What can I do for you?
Hi, I’am Arnold Daniels. I develop high quality web applications, specializing in information retrieval, social APIs and UX. For more information please contact me at arnold@jasny.net.
Fiestainfo
Fiestainfo is a party calender and community, catering to the Dutch club scene. The website features social networking, geo-positioning and advanced access control.
The site has over 250,000 members. The site has a lot of peak traffic. The calendar is popular just before the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday party goers visit to view our party pictures. Fiestainfo manages to handle all this traffic smoothly.
MyRadio – Station manager
MyRadio is interactive internet radio, owned by Netherlands largest radio company Sky Radio Group. MyRadio offers 30 stations, each carefully created by music directors. While listening to the station, you can tell which songs you like or dislike causing the station to gradually change according to your taste.
I’ve create the backend application which allows music directors to upload and process new tracks and the sales department to schedule ads. It’s also processes the logs from a million tracks played each day, to generate insights and reporting.
Cloud9 IDE – PHP integration
Cloud9 IDE is an online development environment for writing, running and debugging Javascript, Node.js, PHP, Python, Java and Ruby applications. It’s often referred of as Google docs for code.
I’m working on the PHP and Python integration, specifically running and debugging programs with xdebug. Cloud9 is entirely written in Javascript and uses Node.js and APF.
10.000scholen – Manager
The website 10.000scholen.nl provides detailed information about all primary and secondary schools in the Netherlands. This includesstatistical data like the performance of the school, age and gender of the teacher and education level of the parents.
Several government agencies each release part of the data, all in non-standard format. The manager imports and processes these files and combines it with existing data.
Jasny Bootstrap
Bootstrap is a front-end framework created by 2 developers from Twitter. It has quickly become the most popular tool for styling web applications.
I’ve forked the project and added a number of components, including action links, input mask, row link, file upload, page alerts, semi-fluid layout, desktop row and more. I’ve also rewritten the node.js app to build customized bootstrap packages.
Other clients
PeerReach analyses twitter users and tweets to find out who’s influential in a specific field of expertise. PeerReach isn’t interested in the the number of followers, but looks at the quality of followers. It also takes demographics, interaction and awareness into account.
DQ Webshops runs several large Magento webshops around Europe, selling wall brackets and mounting systems for LCD, Plasma and LED TVs.
Rogmans Media is an Amsterdam based internet company developing modern websites for both clients as themselves. They run Kamers in Nederland, an upcoming website for student housing and RetailStream, a product for retailers around social media streams.
Past projects
Helder Hosting is a Dutch web-hosting company, focussed providing hosting services to non-technical consumers. I’ve created custom managment software, including a controlpanel and one-click webapp installer, making it easy to run your own website. Helder Hosting is specialised in Concrete5 websites, WordPress blogs and Magento webshops.
NBD-Online is the single most important resource for the Dutch architect and construction industry. The website and management system are using Ajax.org platform: a full-featured rich internet application framework. The back-end is running Sphinx search and MySQL. All data is automatically versioned using MySQL triggers.
